From the moment guests walked in, he created an incredible atmosphere that perfectly matched Lilly’s “Golden Era of Hollywood” theme. The lighting and effects made the whole venue feel like a glamorous nightclub, while still keeping everything fun and age-appropriate for the teens.
One of the most special touches was the custom slideshow and the old Hollywood dance video he put together, featuring iconic moments inspired by the golden age of film. It added such a unique and elegant vibe to the night and tied the whole theme together beautifully.
John also did an amazing job keeping the energy up the entire time. The kids were constantly engaged with fun, appropriate games like dance competitions, a hula hoop contest, and even Kahoot—every single guest was involved and having a blast!
What really stood out was how he was able to blend the classic Hollywood feel with music and energy that was totally relatable for teenagers. That balance is not easy, but he nailed it.

He did a great job of keeping the party going and the dance floor hopping. The only time the kids actually sat down was when we sang Happy Birthday and to eat cake.

Having been to many events where DJ Tampa by Staar Entertainment had provided event services, we knew we were in more than capable hands for our son's Bar Mitzvah. John and his team are hands down the BEST choice for party DJ's in Tampa Bay! Everything bit of planning and consultation was handled personally by John and coordinated through Ashley. All the details were gone over at each meeting to ensure that everything from the play, and do not play, list were perfect as well as the timing of the night's events were cooridinated and would go off like clockwork.
Our DJ for our event, Dax, was hands down the most amazing pick for the job. He checked with us to see if it was cool to dress with our theme and he delivered a non-stop high energy performance the whole night! He never let the dance floor slow down and he engaged, and KEPT engaged, a group of teens who actually smiled all night as a result! But seriosly, Dax knew exactly how and when to break out a new game, introduce a new challenge, or interject the right humor.
Every one of our guests were blown away and many left with Staar's business cards in their hands for their own events.

My daughter's Bat Mitzvah was August 20, 2022 and John and the dancers were FANTASTIC. From the moment we walked in the door until the last song was played, he had the kids and adults dancing. You sometimes worry that the kids are going to be shy or reluctant to participate, that was not a problem AT ALL, they were non-stop.
My daughter and her friends had an absolute blast and I have gotten nothing but great feedback from the adults in attendance.

We asked for recommendations for a DJ for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah and DJ John was recommended. Are we ever glad we took this advice! He far surpassed our expectations on every level. He took plenty of time in advance of the event to find out exactly what we were looking for, and he also shared from his experience how he might enhance our event.
He was in touch multiple times before the event as well to communicate with us. He worked with our venue to make sure everything would flow perfectly.On the day of the party, he was there and set up on time and picked the perfect dancers who were wonderful with the children. He had the children as well as the adults involved and dancing the entire time. When he was having the children play party games he had them whipped into a frenzy of fun. He had a perfect feel for exactly what music to play at for each moment.
The night flew by and everyone had a great time. We could not have scripted it any better. Thank you DJ John for helping make our occasion memorable!
