Accessibility

Everyone should be able to use our website — and enjoy the party.
Last updated: 09/12/2026
A great event is one where nobody feels left out. That's true on the dance floor, and it's true on our website. We're committed to making both work for as many people as possible — including guests and clients with disabilities. This page explains what we're doing about it, where we still have work to do, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.
Building a Site That Works for Everyone
We're working to make djtampa.com accessible to all visitors, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, and other assistive technology.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our reference standard. These are the internationally recognized guidelines for making web content more accessible, and they're the benchmark most commonly referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Steps we've taken include:
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
  • Text and background color combinations chosen for sufficient contrast
  • Headings structured in a logical order so screen readers can navigate the page
  • Forms with clearly labeled fields and visible error messages
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
  • Descriptive link text, so links make sense out of context
  • Captions on video content where available
  • A responsive layout that works when text is enlarged or the browser is zoomed
Accessibility isn't a one-time project. As we add pages, photos, and features, we review new content against these standards and correct issues as we find them.
Where We're Still Working
We'd rather tell you what isn't perfect than pretend everything is.

Areas we're actively improving:
  • Some older event photos and gallery images may have incomplete alt text
  • Some video content may not yet include captions or audio descriptions
  • Third-party tools embedded on our site — including our booking form, social media feeds, and map embeds — are controlled by outside providers, and their accessibility is not fully within our control. We choose accessible-minded vendors where we can, and we'll help you complete anything by phone or email if an embedded tool isn't working for you.
  • PDF documents, where used, may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We'll provide an accessible alternative format on request.
If you run into a barrier we haven't listed, please tell us. Real feedback from real visitors is the fastest way we find problems.
Accessibility Doesn't Stop at the Website
This is the part most vendors skip. A celebration should work for every guest in the room — the grandparent with hearing aids, the guest using a wheelchair, the kid who needs a break from the noise. We plan for that when you tell us it matters, and it costs nothing to ask.

Things we can coordinate for your event:
Sound and Hearing
  • Volume levels managed with sensitivity to guests with hearing aids, cochlear implants, or sound sensitivity
  • Speaker placement that avoids creating unbearable hot spots near seating, especially at tables with older guests
  • Clear, measured microphone announcements — our MCs are trained to speak for comprehension, not just energy
  • Coordination with your venue on assistive listening systems, where available
  • Working alongside ASL interpreters your venue or organization provides, including lighting and placement so interpreters stay visible
Lighting and Visual Effects
  • Advance notice and adjustment of strobe, flash, and rapid-motion lighting effects for guests with photosensitive epilepsy, migraines, or sensory sensitivities
  • Lighting design that keeps walkways, steps, and exits visible
  • Larger, higher-contrast text on any screens or slideshow content we produce
Space and Movement
  • Layout input so there's clear, unobstructed access to seating, the bar, restrooms, and the dance area for guests using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or service animals
  • Cable runs taped, covered, and routed away from walking paths
  • Coordination with your planner and venue on accessible routes to and from any area we're set up in
Sensory and Pacing
  • Quieter periods built into the timeline for guests who need a break
  • Advance notice of loud moments — confetti, grand entrances, sound effects — so families can prepare
  • Song request options that don't require approaching a loud DJ booth, including requests submitted in advance or by text
Communication
  • Event planning by phone, email, text, video call, or in person — whatever works best for you
  • Planning documents provided in large print or another accessible format on request
The best time to raise an accommodation is during planning, but it's never too late — mention it at any point and we'll adjust. You don't need to explain why or provide documentation. Just tell us what would make the day work better.
