How DJ Tampa collects, uses, and protects your information
Last updated: 09/11/2026
At DJ Tampa, we're in the business of celebrations — not data collection. But planning an event means sharing details with us: your name, your venue, your guest count, sometimes your kid's favorite song. We take that seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, reach out. We'd rather answer a question than leave you guessing.

This policy applies to djtampa.com and to the services we provide as Staar Entertainment LLC
Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what we collect automatically, and what we receive from partners.
Information You Provide
When you request a quote, book an event, or contact us, you may share:
  • Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
  • Event details — date, venue, event type, guest count, timeline, and theme
  • Music preferences, requests, and do-not-play lists
  • Names and roles of people involved in the event (wedding party, honorees, family members, planners, venue coordinators)
  • Billing and payment information, processed through our third-party payment provider
  • Anything else you choose to include in a message, form, or planning document
Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically receive:
  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time on page, and referring website
  • General location information based on IP address
  • Cookie and pixel data (see the Cookies section below)
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from event venues, planners, and other vendors coordinating your event, as well as from advertising and analytics platforms and from review platforms where you leave feedback.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
  • Respond to inquiries and prepare quotes and proposals
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform at your event
  • Communicate with you and your other vendors about event logistics
  • Process payments, contracts, and invoices
  • Send booking confirmations, reminders, and planning materials
  • Share occasional marketing emails about services, seasonal offerings, and availability (you can opt out anytime)
  • Improve our website, services, and advertising
  • Comply with legal, tax, and insurance obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers.
Text Messaging (SMS)
Event days move fast, and text is often the quickest way to reach you.

By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from DJ Tampa related to your inquiry or event — booking confirmations, planning questions, timeline updates, and day-of coordination.

A few things to know:
  • Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can book with us without agreeing to texts.
  • Message frequency varies based on your event and where you are in the planning process.
  • Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.
  • To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message. You'll get one confirmation message, and we won't text you again unless you opt back in.
  • For help, reply HELP or contact us at (866) DJ-Tampa or info@staarent.com.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies — small files stored on your device — to keep the site working properly and to help us understand how people use it.

We use:
  • Essential cookies that make the site function (forms, navigation, security)
  • Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics, to see which pages people visit and how they found us
  • Advertising and remarketing pixels, including Meta Pixel and Google Ads, which may show you our ads on other websites and platforms after you've visited ours
These third-party tools collect information under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

Your choices: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on, and you can adjust ad personalization through your Google and Meta account settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of our site work.
Photos, Video, and Social Media
We love showing off the events we're part of — it's how future clients get a feel for what we do.

Unless you tell us otherwise, we may photograph or record events we perform at and use those images and clips on our website, social media accounts, marketing materials, and advertising. This includes photos and video captured by our team, our photobooth, and our video production services.

A few commitments:
  • If you'd prefer we not use images from your event, just let us know in writing before your event date and we'll honor it — no explanation needed.
  • If a photo of you or your child is already published and you'd like it removed, contact us at info@staarent.com and we'll take it down promptly.
  • We don't tag or identify guests by name without permission.
  • Guests, venues, and other vendors may capture and share their own photos and video at your event. We don't control that content or how it's used.
When you interact with us on social platforms, those platforms collect information under their own privacy policies.
When We Share Information
We share information only when there's a reason to, and only as much as needed. That includes:
  • Service providers who help us operate — payment processors, booking and CRM software, email platforms, website hosting, and cloud storage
  • Event partners — venues, planners, photographers, caterers, and other vendors who need details to coordinate your event
  • Our team members and contracted performers assigned to your event
  • Professional advisors — accountants, insurers, and attorneys
  • Legal authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety and rights of our clients, guests, or team
  • A successor entity, if our business is sold, merged, or reorganized
We ask our service providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purpose we hired them for.
Children's Privacy
Many of the events we work — school dances, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16s, birthday parties — involve minors, and we handle that with care.

Our website is intended for adults, and we don't knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted information through our site, we'll delete it.

For information provided by a parent, guardian, or school on a minor's behalf as part of event planning, we use it only for that event. When we work with schools and youth organizations, we follow the direction of the school or organization regarding photography, recording, and communications, and we defer to whatever consent process they have in place with families.
How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including secured accounts, limited team access, and reputable third-party platforms for payments and file storage. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. Please don't send sensitive information like full payment card numbers or government ID numbers by email or text.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep your information as long as we need it to serve you and to meet our legal, tax, insurance, and accounting obligations — typically seven years for contracts and financial records. Marketing contacts are retained until you unsubscribe. Event photos and video may be retained indefinitely in our portfolio unless you ask us to remove them.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over your personal information. Regardless of where you live, you can always contact us at info@staarent.com to request a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, or opt out of marketing emails and texts.
Florida and U.S. State Residents (including CCPA/CPRA)
If you're a California resident — or a resident of another state with a comprehensive privacy law — you may have the right to:
  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do use advertising and remarketing pixels, which some state laws classify as "sharing" for targeted advertising — you can opt out through the cookie controls described above or by contacting us.

To submit a request, email info@staarent.com or call (866) DJ-Tampa. We'll verify your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by law. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Visitors from the EU and UK (GDPR)
If you're located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, to request data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We process personal information on these legal bases: performance of a contract (planning and delivering your event), legitimate interests (improving our services and marketing responsibly), consent (marketing emails, texts, and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (tax and accounting requirements).

Our services are directed to clients and events in the Tampa Bay area and other parts of Florida. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to This Party
We may update this policy as our services, tools, or legal obligations change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted more prominently. Continued use of our site or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
